You wait forever and two come along at once. I have been trying to find time to do something with video taken at the Kent and East Sussex railway at the start of the year. This is the Southern tank engine No.65 running between Bodiam and Tenterden. This loco is in really good condition and can often be found hauling five, well preserved Southern region carriages.
Its not often I get to shoot, edit, upload and post a video all on the same day, this is one of those occasions. Today the Highways Agency paid a visit to the Ffestiniog Railway – Welsh Highland Railway to inspect the road crossings at the Britannia Bridge, Snowdon Street and, I guess, the roadworks crossing for the new A487 Porthmadog by-pass. This was a cold, damp, bone chilling day and the lack of people around meant that video conditions were pretty good. They were using a seven coach train with steam engine Merddin Emrys at one end and Vale of Ffestiniog diesel at the other end. First time I’ve seen trains crossing the Britannia Bridge and I am quite impressed with the finished result.
