German Railways visits London

German Railways (DB) visited London today after having successfully sent a train through the Channel Tunnel over the weekend. The visit of the InterCity Express (ICE3) is the first step in what DB hopes will open up European rail travel on routes between London, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and France. A series of trials must commence prior to the service being given the go-ahead and no doubt will help EuroStar with its purchase of the same Siemens built units despite French opposition. Once in operation who’d want to fly!
