Prague to Plzen

The Czech Republic is putting massive investment into its railways, with the help of the EU, to get them from the post-communist decay roaring into the 21st century. There are some exciting projects currently under way, one of which is the improvements of the line from Prague to Plzen. Whilst the route is picturesque it is a very slow way to go West towards Nurnburg in Germany, so they are digging a tunnel, which should cut the journey time to around 30mins [Prague Monitor]
